Is it permissible to take false oath on Quran to save self honour/ self respect?
I am aware that taking a false oath by Quran is considered a major grave sin and should be avoided at all costs. However, in dire circumstances, is it permissible for a person to take a false oath on the Quran to preserve his/her honour and the honour of his/ her family for a mistake that He/ She made in the past? Meaning if a person was to take a false oath saying He/She was not involved with anyone in the Past (a past mistake which He/she has sincerely repented for), would that be forgiven?
